The Poetry/Spoken Word Club is an interest group for students who want to write, develop, share, and perform their personal poetry.  The club meets bi-monthly and they perform at Arts Alive in December and for English classes at the Poetry Showcase in April.  There are also optional open mic nights at Cup & Vine coffee shop. Separately, tryouts for the slam/spoken word team are in October, and these 12 individuals compete in area slam competitions through Young Chicago Author’s Louder Than a Bomb, the largest teen poetry slam competition in the world.
