One student-acted Broadway musical is performed each spring. Auditions are open to all Schaumburg students, but a majority of the cast is chosen from students enrolled in choral music classes. Rehearsals are usually after school and some evenings, preparing for four performances that require about a two-month block of time. Any student may work on set, makeup and other production activities. The pit orchestra is chosen from interested students in both band and orchestra. Cast size varies from production to production. Past musicals have included “Hello Dolly,” “Guys and Dolls,” "Big Fish," and “Cabaret.”
